The right to withhold delivery until payment is one of the most effective protections a videographer has.

Deliverables and delivery

Revision policy

REVISION POLICY This contract includes [1] round of revisions. A revision is: minor edits submitted as a single consolidated list, including music changes, clip removal, minor colour adjustments, and title card text corrections. A revision is NOT: re-shooting footage, replacing drone footage, or significant structural changes. Revision requests must be submitted within [48 hours] of delivery. Additional revision rounds: [Currency][Amount] per round, paid before work begins.

Property readiness

Property preparation

PROPERTY READINESS The Client is responsible for ensuring the property is shoot-ready on arrival: - Property is clean, decluttered, and free from personal items in shot - All lights are working and turned on - All blinds and curtains are open in rooms to be filmed - Vehicles removed from the driveway where possible - Bins moved from the exterior The Videographer will send a pre-shoot prep note [48 hours] before the shoot. If the property is not shoot-ready on arrival: - Minor issues (under 15 min to resolve): addressed at no extra charge - Significant issues requiring reschedule: re-shoot fee of [Currency][Amount] applies - The Videographer will document the property condition with photographs on arrival

This clause is the most practically important in real estate video contracts. Without it you have no basis to charge for a wasted trip.

Section 6

Usage rights

Client licence

CLIENT USAGE RIGHTS On receipt of full payment, the Client receives a non-exclusive licence to use the finished video for property marketing purposes, including listing portals, agency website, and social media for this specific property. This licence does not include: use in agency-wide brand campaigns, resale of footage, or use for any other property.

Videographer rights

VIDEOGRAPHER RIGHTS The Videographer retains copyright in all footage and finished videos. The Videographer may use footage for portfolio and promotional purposes unless the Client requests otherwise in writing before the shoot. The Videographer will not sell footage to third parties.
Section 7

Cancellation

Cancellation terms

CANCELLATION More than [48 hours] notice: no charge. [24-48 hours] notice: [Currency][Amount] or [X]% of total fee. Less than [24 hours] notice: full fee applies. Day-of cancellation: full fee applies. All cancellations must be made by email or phone. Time of receipt determines which policy applies. If the Videographer must cancel: they will give maximum notice, offer to reschedule at no extra charge, or provide a full refund.
Section 8

General terms and signatures

General terms

GENERAL TERMS Liability: The Videographer's total liability is limited to the total fee paid. The Videographer is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost sales, delayed listings, or lost commissions. Force majeure: Neither party is liable for failure to perform due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control. Governing law: This agreement is governed by the laws of [Country / State / Jurisdiction]. Entire agreement: This contract supersedes all prior discussions. Amendments must be agreed in writing.
